Often bands use festivals such as NXNE and its American cousin SXSW to unveil new songs or new lineups. Guelph, ON-based soft electro-rockers Mathemagic did both.
Performing what was reportedly their third show ever, the most notable difference from recorded songs to live was that the two brothers — Evan and Dylan Euteneier — had a woman, Karen Jacobs, singing with them live for the first time.
According to their label camp, the addition of Jacobs also means that everything the brothers recorded for their upcoming album, now scheduled to be released next year, will be gone back over with her.
So fans and industry types in attendance were lucky to hear what might be a rare occasion until then.
